I read Neil Gaiman's Snow, Apples, Glass this week. I found it positively inspiring. I took to writing as soon as I was home. I loved Angela Carter's The Bloody Chamber not only for its lush, decadent prose, but also because it reinterpreted common fairy tales in such beautiful, daring ways. I am excited that the Nomad will soon be getting me my much belated gift of Silver Birch, Blood Moon which is another collection of reinterpreted fairy tales.
