The Dime
Food for thought:

Price and worth are synonyms

Priceless and worthless can be considered antonyms

Price comes from the latin pretium "reward, prize, value, worth"
Praise, price, and prize began to diverge from the Old French by 1325.

Worth "equal in value" comes from Proto-Germanic *werthaz “toward, opposite,” hence “equivalent, worth".

er... yeah. Logically they should sort of mean the same. Somehow priceless slipped subtlely into "without peer".

Blame the French!

I do. Constantly. For everything. Cheese-eating surrender-monkeys.
