The Cardinal
"Life without magic is suicide,
for it is both barren death
and choice."

He utters words to himself
on a night of delicate warmth.
He is afraid of his own tangled tangerine skin.
He wants it all, the apple and the innocence.

He continues to mutter to himself,
hoping that something will ring true enough,
to grant him peace.
