I stumble down to the kitchen this morning, anything but ready to face the day. Need to eat breakfast, because some kind of 'responsible routine' has taken root in my brain. Sunlight is shining in the kitchen window, dishes from last night's dinner are still all over, my enthusiasm for work has yet to visit me...

A thought reaches my brain. Our kitchen window faces west.

My first, ridiculous thought is that I had slept backwards in time. My second, more rational was that I had slept through Monday already (not a horrid option). My third, more informed thought was that the rising sun at this time of year reflects off the windows from the taller building across the alley and into my kitchen like a sad sunset.
