This is (one reason) why I love Neil Gaiman

The dedication inside of Anansi Boys:

You know how it is. You pick up a book, flip to the dedication, and find that, once again, the author has dedicated a book to someone else and not to you.
Not this time.
Because we haven't yet met/have only a glancing acquaintance/are just crazy about each other/haven't seen each other in much too long/are in some way related/will never meet, but will, I trust, despite that, always think fondly of each other...
This one's for you.
With you know what, and you probably know why.

I agree...

I have met Neil at a couple of book signings and he makes every single fan feel like they have had an individual experience with him. Not sure how he does it, but he is very appreciative of his fan base.

He's right. When I went to his book signing in December, it was just like that. Neil's amazing.

Green for you/ from you

You gave these to Satya & I as a housewarming gift, and I remember that you were unsure if they would survive well or at all. After some rough times in a basement apartment with too little sunshine and another with house too many rampaging kittens, they've found a place where the gravity always points in the right direction (yay!) and they are allowed to be outdoors in the warm sunshine all summer (yumm!), and as you might expect, they are thriving.

The hanging one is in a great big pot more than a foot across, and the one in the black pot is actually only /half/ of the original plant, the other is almost the same size and is in a hard-to photograph corner of the kitchen.

The spider plant has spawned so many times that I really don't know which one the original plant was anyway, so I didn't take any pics of it. Many of the babies have in turn been given to others as gifts, and some have kept me company at work at different jobs.

So thank you (again!!) for the gift(s). I very much like having a greener place to live.

I am overjoyed to see that they survived and thrived!
